Adam Lane Concert
Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 7:00 PM (EST)
Brooklyn, United States
On Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 7 pm, Adam Lane and his Full Throttle Orchestra will perform in the auditorium at PS 321. All proceeds will benefit arts and enrichment at PS321.
In addition to being a beloved music teacher at PS321, Adam Lane's work as a bassist and composer has landed him notice as one of the most original creative voices in the Avant-Garde New York jazz scene. His most recent project, his FULL THROTTLE ORCHESTRA [http://www.adamlane.org/fullthrottle2.html], is a nine piece ensemble formed to realize his extended jazz orchestral compositions.
As a sideman Lane has performed with an eclectic mix of fascinating musicians, from Tenor great John Tchicai, to rock legend Tom Waits. Lane's own work has been praised for its audacity and originality - Bill Meyer writes in Downbeat, "Lane's music is genuine, accessible, fun. The music is deeply in touch with the essential pleasures of earwig-worthy tunes, fat bluesy grooves, and sheer tonal beauty." ( Four Stars, Jan 2011)
This is a wonderful opportunity for some of the 4th and 5th graders to see a jazz performance of such caliber. Tickets go fast! Reserve yours today!
If not possible, you do not need to print out your tickets. Please stop at the Will Call table in the school lobby at least 15 minutes before the show for concert entry. Contact Sheila Shidnia (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to volunteer for this event or with any questions!
